Registered Nurse – Graduate Nurse (RN, GN) – Med Surg Telemetry

Windham Hospital in East Glastonbury, Hartford County welcomes newly licensed Registered Nurses and Graduate Nurses to launch your clinical career on our Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit. This full-time position features a comprehensive Nurse Residency program designed to support your professional transition with mentorship, clinical resources, and ongoing education.

About the Role

You'll work 12-hour night shifts with an every-other-weekend and rotating holiday schedule at Windham Community Memorial. This telemetry-monitored medical-surgical unit provides an ideal setting for graduate nurses to build fundamental clinical skills while delivering compassionate care to diverse patient populations.

What You'll Do

• Deliver direct patient care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients, with focus on cardiac monitoring and vital sign assessment
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Respond promptly to patient needs and advocate for safe, evidence-based treatment
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, clinical pharmacists, and interdisciplinary team members
• Document care accurately and thoroughly in electronic health records
• Participate in shift huddles, rounds, and clinical case discussions to enhance your knowledge
• Maintain patient safety standards and infection control protocols

What We're Looking For

• Current Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) or Graduate Nurse (GN) license
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Dedication to patient-centered care and continuous learning
• Ability to manage rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Basic clinical competency and willingness to grow under mentorship
