About the Role
As an Inpatient Nursing Educator at Windham Hospital, you'll lead learning initiatives and clinical development across our medical-surgical telemetry and stepdown units. Working primarily day shift with flexibility to support evening and night staff when acute care needs require it, you'll directly impact the quality of patient care and the professional growth of our nursing team at Windham Community Memorial.
What You'll Do
- Design and deliver evidence-based educational programs tailored to medical-surgical and telemetry unit staff
- Conduct competency assessments and develop personalized learning plans for nurses at all experience levels
- Mentor and coach clinical staff on best practices, clinical protocols, and patient safety initiatives
- Evaluate learning outcomes and adjust curricula based on unit performance and healthcare standards
- Collaborate with nursing leadership to identify clinical education needs and priorities
- Support the integration of new staff through orientation and onboarding programs
- Stay current with clinical evidence and translate it into practical training
What We're Looking For
- Current RN license in Connecticut with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Demonstrated clinical nursing experience with background in medical-surgical and/or telemetry units
- Strong teaching ability and passion for staff development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple educational initiatives while maintaining clinical relevance
- Experience with adult learning principles and training program evaluation
- Commitment to patient safety and evidence-based practice
