About This Position
Vumc seeks a Registered Nurse to support interventional radiologic procedures at our Nashville medical center. Working days with 0.75 FTE scheduling, you'll assist with minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures guided by physicians. This role immerses you in advanced imaging technology while building expertise in a specialized nursing field. You'll collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and physicians in a procedure-focused team dedicated to patient care and safety.
Core Duties
- Prepare patients before procedures and provide supportive care during and after radiologic interventions
- Monitor patient vital signs and clinical status throughout procedures
- Assist physicians and radiologists with patient positioning, equipment preparation, and procedural support
- Maintain aseptic technique and manage procedure trays, supplies, and instruments
- Document patient care activities and clinical findings in medical records
- Ensure patient comfort, safety, and advocacy in the procedural setting
- Work collaboratively with the interventional radiology care team
Requirements
- Current Tennessee Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Background in acute care nursing or active clinical experience
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and interpersonal abilities
- Comfort working in a procedure-based, time-sensitive environment
- Understanding of patient safety, sterile technique, and radiation safety
- Openness to acquiring interventional radiology-specific clinical skills
