Regional Project Cost Accountant – Midwest Region

Join Loenbro as a Regional Project Cost Accountant in our Cedar Rapids, Linn County office. This full-time, onsite position offers the opportunity to shape financial accuracy and cost management across construction projects throughout the Midwest region.

About the Role

You'll manage cost tracking, budget monitoring, and financial reporting for project portfolios across our Midwest operations. As a critical link between our project teams and accounting leadership, you'll deliver the cost intelligence that drives profitability, accountability, and smart business decisions for the thousands of customers we serve.

What You'll Do

• Track project costs and monitor expenditures against budgets; prepare variance analyses and cost reports for regional management
• Reconcile project accounts and investigate discrepancies to ensure clean, accurate records
• Partner with project managers and field teams to gather cost data, validate invoices, and support billing processes
• Maintain organized cost documentation and support audit activities across the project portfolio
• Analyze actual spending versus forecast and contribute insights for financial planning
• Support quarterly and year-end close processes within Finance & Accounting

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• At least two years of accounting experience, with construction or project accounting preferred
• Solid command of accounting systems and spreadsheet modeling
• Detail-oriented mindset and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
• Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills
• Advanced Excel proficiency; construction accounting software experience is valuable
