Vice President, Medical Strategy

Real Chemistry seeks a Vice President, Medical Strategy for this remote Full Time opportunity based in the USA. This senior role lets you influence scientific direction, expand offerings, and grow client relationships while leading high-caliber teams across therapeutic areas.

The Opportunity

This remote USA position offers the chance to function as a senior strategic leader who advances client partnerships, operational excellence, and innovation at Real Chemistry. Title may be set at Vice President or Senior Vice President depending on experience, leadership span, and team alignment. You will collaborate with medical leadership to cover remits including medical affairs, promotional work, and scientific visualization. Candidates must work primarily during Eastern Time hours and be prepared for moderate travel of approximately 25 percent for client meetings, workshops, industry events, and business development. Compensation falls in the $185,000–$225,000 range determined by experience, skills, certifications, and location.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior leader within medical affairs and communications to develop and execute strategies that drive organizational growth, client success, and operational excellence
• Provide oversight across business areas so teams remain structured to meet current client demands and future expansion
• Contribute to enterprise initiatives that build capabilities, refine processes, and support strategic priorities
• Advise senior client stakeholders on medical affairs, scientific communications, publications, evidence generation, and engagement programs
• Direct high-level scientific strategy and recommendations while guaranteeing delivery excellence
• Spot and pursue organic account growth through partnership and proactive engagement
• Lead, mentor, and grow multidisciplinary scientific teams while building cultures of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and improvement
• Establish scalable processes, clear structures, and strong leadership practices for organizational effectiveness
• Partner with scientific, account, and operational leaders to lift performance and client impact
• Lead scientific strategy for new-business pitches, proposals, workshops, and presentations
• Expand the medical communications and medical affairs footprint with existing and prospective clients
• Work with commercial and executive leaders to surface market trends and emerging opportunities
• Champion practical AI-enabled solutions in scientific strategy and client work while evaluating efficiency, quality, and outcomes gains under rigorous scientific and compliance standards
• Apply sound judgment on AI opportunities and limits inside healthcare communications and medical affairs settings

Qualifications

• VP level requires 10-plus years in healthcare communications, medical affairs, or medical communications; SVP level requires 12-plus years of progressive leadership covering business growth, organizational leadership, and strategic decisions
• Significant agency background showing leadership across medical affairs, promotional medical education, and scientific visualization service lines
• Advanced scientific degree such as PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent is required
• Proven record guiding large teams, complex client portfolios, and cross-functional initiatives
• Demonstrated ability to generate new business, organic growth, and executive client relationships backed by financial, operational, and strategic acumen
• Cardiovascular therapeutic experience is highly desired yet not mandatory; expertise in additional areas is welcomed
• Hands-on experience applying AI-enabled tools and innovation approaches within healthcare communications, including awareness of scientific, regulatory, and operational factors
• Alignment with collaborative, impact-focused, excellence-driven, ever-evolving, and personally accountable values plus energy for building and scaling teams in a high-growth setting
