Referent Steuern & Tax Compliance (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential organization in the Munich area seeking a Tax & Compliance Specialist (m/w/d) to join their corporate tax team. This is a permanent, full-time position based in the southern part of Munich with flexible working arrangements including partial home-office options.

Our client operates in a complex tax environment requiring expertise in corporate taxation, compliance, and financial reporting under both German and international standards.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and assess complex tax matters, ensuring tax compliance in collaboration with external advisors
• Manage corporate and income tax matters, VAT/sales tax topics, tax declarations, and tax-relevant contract structures
• Support tax-related questions during annual and quarterly financial closings under HGB and IFRS standards
• Accompany transfer pricing matters and tax audits while monitoring relevant national and international tax law developments
• Contribute tax expertise to digitalization projects, process optimization initiatives, and the strategic development of the tax function

What We're Looking For

• Degree with focus on taxation, accounting, or auditing, OR qualification as a tax specialist (Steuerfachangestellter) or certified accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter)
• Professional experience as a tax specialist, tax manager, or tax consultant (Steuerfachwirt), ideally within a corporate tax department or at an audit and tax advisory firm
• Strong knowledge of German tax law, particularly corporate income tax and VAT, plus solid accounting knowledge under HGB
• Additional knowledge of IFRS and experience with tax declarations, transfer pricing, or tax audits
• Analytical thinking, structured and highly accurate working style, and ability to present complex matters clearly
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Fluency in German is required for this role
