Oklo is hiring a Recycling Operations Manager to join our engineering and product teams in the United States on a full-time basis. This role is available immediately.

Position Summary

You'll own the operational backbone that enables Oklo's Recycling Division to scale safely and efficiently. This is a systems-focused role where you'll identify operational barriers, collaborate with senior leadership to redesign how work happens, and implement solutions that free technical teams to focus on delivering complex, regulated technology. You'll lead procurement workflows, engineering documentation, budgeting, hiring, and continuous process improvement.

Your Responsibilities

  • Identify and resolve operational problems arising from processes, tooling, ownership gaps, and team communication challenges.
  • Manage the budgeting, purchasing, planning, and hiring that enables the division to scale without losing efficiency.
  • Oversee procurement workflows to keep proposals clearly scoped and contracts executing smoothly.
  • Create and maintain clear, accessible engineering work instructions and best practices; partner with quality assurance to ensure right-sizing and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify and promote automation and tooling improvements to eliminate repetitive manual work.
  • Collaborate with Business Operations and Procurement to optimize budget allocation and resource planning for engineering teams.
  • Plan and execute high-impact forums—offsites, design reviews, all-hands meetings—that drive alignment and results.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years in engineering operations, product operations, business consulting, technical program management, or comparable roles.
  • Demonstrated success improving cross-functional workflows, operating models, or organizational systems.
  • Experience partnering with senior leadership (Director level and above) to understand complex challenges and execute strategic changes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to take ownership and make progress in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
  • Preferred: Background with hardware, engineering, or technical teams; experience in regulated industries (energy, nuclear, aerospace, medical devices); startup or scaling-stage organization experience; proficiency with Confluence, Jira, or similar platforms.

About the Company

Oklo is pioneering advanced fission technology to deliver clean, scalable energy; building domestic supply chains for critical radioisotopes; and advancing nuclear fuel recycling to transform waste into power. The company was the first to receive a Department of Energy site use permit for a commercial advanced fission plant, obtained fuel material from Idaho National Laboratory, and submitted the first custom combined license application for an advanced reactor to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Oklo collaborates with the Department of Energy and national laboratories on breakthrough fuel recycling solutions.
