Python and Kubernetes Software Engineer – Data, Workflows, AI/ML & Analytics

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential open-source technology organization seeking Python and Kubernetes Software Engineers to join their Data, Workflows, AI/ML, and Analytics teams. This is a fully remote position open to candidates anywhere in the world.

Our client builds enterprise-grade open-source solutions deployed across public clouds, private infrastructure, and developer workstations. You'll work on end-to-end data analytics and MLOps platforms using tools like Kubeflow, MLFlow, DVC, Feast, Apache Superset, dbt, Airflow, Temporal, Apache Trino, and ClickHouse.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data analytics and MLOps solutions for cloud and on-premises deployment
• Develop across the full Linux stack, from kernel and networking to application layer
• Work with Kubernetes and machine-oriented open-source applications
• Implement distributed systems concepts including observability, identity, and tracing
• Collaborate with distributed engineering, design, and product teams
• Debug issues and engage with upstream open-source communities
• Contribute to architecture discussions and technical decision-making

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Professional or academic software delivery experience using Python
• Strong academic background from high school and university
• Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or equivalent experience
• Experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred)
• Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills
• Track record of exceeding expectations and delivering outstanding results
• Passion for technology demonstrated through personal projects
• Strong interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability
• Self-motivated with a results-oriented approach
• Ability to travel twice yearly for company events (up to two weeks)

Preferred qualifications:

• Proven track record building automated machine learning solutions, data pipelines, or workflow orchestration for cloud environments
• Hands-on experience with machine learning libraries and tools
• Experience with container technologies (Docker, LXD, Kubernetes)
• Experience with public clouds (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Passion for software quality and testing
• Prior contributions to open-source projects

Pay

Compensation details will be discussed during the screening process and are based on geographical location, experience, and performance. Our client offers a performance-driven annual bonus, personal learning and development budget of USD 2,000 per year, annual compensation review, recognition rewards, generous holiday leave, parental leave, employee assistance program, and travel benefits.
