CoreWeave is hiring a Principal Security Engineer to lead our organization's security strategy across our offices in Livingston, NJ, New York, NY, Sunnyvale, CA, and Bellevue, WA. The Opportunity

As a Principal Security Engineer, you'll have defining influence on how CoreWeave protects its infrastructure, data, and customers at scale. We're experiencing rapid growth as a publicly traded company (Nasdaq: CRWV listed in March 2025), and we need a seasoned security leader who can architect solutions aligned with business goals while staying ahead of emerging threats. You'll work hand-in-hand with engineering, operations, and executive teams to embed security into every technology initiative. This strategic role positions you to directly impact how we secure AI compute infrastructure for the world's most innovative organizations.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and champion the organization's security architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory mandates
  • Assess and rank critical security needs based on threat analysis, risk evaluation, and business priorities
  • Build comprehensive security frameworks and architectural designs that safeguard data, applications, and infrastructure
  • Provide expertise in secure development practices, network design, and cloud security to embed protection into every system
  • Conduct systematic security risk assessments across network, application, and data domains
  • Create risk mitigation strategies and oversee deployment of security controls organization-wide
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend security platforms and tools to address current and anticipated challenges
  • Direct implementation and integration of new security technologies with minimal operational disruption
  • Advise senior leaders on security strategy, investment priorities, and emerging risks
  • Partner with engineering, operations, and business teams to embed security considerations throughout product development
  • Mentor and develop junior security engineers and technical staff, fostering a strong security-first culture
  • Ensure organizational practices meet regulatory requirements including GDPR, HIPAA, and ISO/IEC 27001
  • Design, implement, and maintain incident response programs; lead recovery efforts and post-incident reviews

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or equivalent field
  • 10+ years of information security experience, with strong focus on security architecture and design
  • Demonstrated track record leading security programs and influencing executive decision-making
  • Proficiency in Python, Golang, or similar modern programming languages
  • Deep knowledge of security frameworks, standards, and methodologies including NIST, SOC2, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls
  • Comprehensive understanding of network architecture security, cloud platform security, application security, and data protection
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS systems, encryption technologies, and identity and access management solutions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with sound judgment under pressure
  • Excellent ability to communicate complex security concepts to both technical teams and business stakeholders
  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or SABSA are highly valued
