Principal SAP Security Architect (S/4HANA & Government Systems)

VWR seeks a Principal SAP Security Architect to lead security strategy for S/4HANA and government systems deployments across our 2 locations. This is a full-time, on-site position for a seasoned security leader ready to shape enterprise architecture and protect mission-critical systems.

What This Role Involves

As Principal SAP Security Architect, you'll design and oversee comprehensive security solutions for complex SAP environments serving government and regulated sectors. You'll partner with leadership to establish security governance frameworks, drive architectural decisions, and ensure compliance with federal and industry standards. Your expertise in S/4HANA security will be central to modernizing VWR's infrastructure while maintaining the highest protection standards.

Core Duties

• Architect end-to-end security solutions for SAP S/4HANA implementations, from design through production deployment
• Lead threat modeling, risk assessments, and security control design for government systems and regulated environments
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and best practices across SAP landscapes
• Oversee identity and access management (IAM) strategy, authentication frameworks, and role-based controls
• Guide security hardening, patch management, and vulnerability remediation for SAP infrastructure
• Mentor security teams and collaborate with infrastructure, application, and compliance leaders
• Ensure alignment with FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST, and other government security requirements
• Conduct security audits, assessments, and incident response planning

Requirements

• 10+ years of enterprise security architecture experience, with 5+ years focused on SAP environments
• Deep expertise in S/4HANA security architecture, configuration, and deployment
• Proven experience securing government systems and ensuring federal compliance (FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST)
• Strong knowledge of identity and access management, encryption, and data protection frameworks
• Ability to develop security strategies and communicate complex concepts to executive stakeholders
• SAP security certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Associate - System Security Architect) or equivalent demonstrable expertise
• Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Security clearance or willingness to obtain one for government systems work
