Press Operator 2 – Flexographic Press – 12-hr Rotating Night Shift

RR Donnelley is seeking a skilled Press Operator 2 to join our production team on the 12-hour rotating night shift at our Oakdale, MN facility. This full-time position is essential to maintaining the quality and efficiency our customers depend on from our flexographic printing operations.

About the Role

As a Press Operator 2, you'll be responsible for operating flexographic printing equipment during overnight shift hours. You'll manage press setup, monitor production runs for consistency, and ensure all printed materials meet our quality standards. This role demands mechanical understanding, reliable night-shift availability, and the ability to troubleshoot production issues in a dynamic manufacturing setting.

Core Duties

• Operate flexographic presses, adjusting registration, ink flow, and speed to maintain print quality and production targets
• Perform setup procedures including plate mounting, substrate loading, and ink preparation
• Monitor production throughout the shift and perform inline quality checks
• Identify and resolve press malfunctions, collaborating with maintenance staff as needed
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and perform routine preventive care
• Document production data and report issues to shift supervision
• Adhere to all safety procedures and maintain workplace standards
• Communicate effectively with team members and production coordinators

Requirements

• Previous experience operating printing presses, ideally flexographic systems
• Proven ability to work 12-hour rotating night shifts reliably
• Mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting capability
• Strong attention to detail and quality consciousness
• Clear communication and collaborative work style
• Physical ability to lift materials, stand for extended periods, and work in a manufacturing environment
• Openness to continuous learning and skill development
