About the Role
As a Police Officer Trainee with the City of Alliance, you'll complete comprehensive academy training while working full-time on patrol. This role offers structured development from your first day through certification, giving you the foundation for a stable, long-term career in law enforcement.
What You'll Do
- Attend and complete the required police academy training program
- Perform patrol duties and respond to calls for service throughout Alliance
- Conduct traffic enforcement and investigations under supervision
- Interact professionally with community members and document incidents accurately
- Maintain equipment, vehicles, and records according to departmental standards
- Work rotating shifts including evenings, nights, and weekends as assigned
- Follow all city, state, and federal law enforcement protocols
What We're Looking For
- U.S. citizen with a valid driver's license
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation and drug screening
- Strong communication and decision-making skills
- Physical fitness to meet law enforcement standards

Compensation & Benefits
Starting hourly wage: $23.56 (effective October 1, 2025 through September 30, 2026). Upon successful academy certification, your wage increases to $26.18–$29.02 per hour depending on qualifications. Comprehensive wage schedules with annual increases through 2028 are available.
Important Dates
