Part-time Paraeducator: Preschool Early Intervention (Developmental Delay)

Lancaster-Lebanon Intermediate Unit 13 is hiring a Part-time Paraeducator: Preschool Early Intervention (Developmental Delay) to support young learners with developmental delays at our IU13 Early Learning Center. About the Role

As a Part-time Paraeducator in our Preschool Early Intervention program, you will work hands-on with educators and specialists to help children experiencing developmental delays build foundational skills. This position follows a stretch calendar of 185 days per year that includes a summer session, with a schedule of 6.75 hours per day (8:30 a.m.–3:15 p.m.) on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. The starting rate is a minimum of $18.90 per hour, and the role is available as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers and therapists in delivering individualized early intervention activities for preschoolers with developmental delays.
• Support children one-on-one and in small groups to encourage social, emotional, motor, and communication growth.
• Help prepare materials, set up learning spaces, and maintain a safe, welcoming, and structured environment.
• Reinforce instructional goals and routines outlined in each child's plan.
• Observe and share helpful information with the classroom team to track each learner's progress.

Qualifications

• A genuine interest in supporting young children with developmental delays and special needs.
• Patience, dependability, and strong communication skills for working alongside students, staff, and families.
• Availability to work the scheduled hours across the program's stretch calendar, including the summer session.
• Ability to meet the credential and clearance requirements expected of paraeducators in a Pennsylvania early learning setting.
