About the Role

This part‑time opportunity enables you to teach defensive driving concepts to diverse audiences while promoting roadway safety in both English and Portuguese. You will work closely with the National Safety Council’s training team to deliver curriculum that helps reduce preventable injuries and fatalities.

What You'll Do

• Deliver classroom and behind‑the‑wheel defensive driving instruction using NSC‑approved materials.
• Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet the language needs of English‑ and Portuguese‑speaking participants.
• Assess student performance, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate attendance and completion records.
• Ensure all training sessions comply with NSC standards and local regulatory requirements.
• Promote NSC safety initiatives and answer participant questions about workplace and roadway safety.
• Participate in ongoing instructor development and stay current with best practices in defensive driving education.

What We're Looking For

• Current certification as a defensive driving instructor or equivalent qualification recognized by the National Safety Council.
• Fluency in both English and Portuguese, with the ability to teach complex concepts clearly in each language.
• Strong presentation and interpersonal skills, comfortable working with adult learners from varied backgrounds.
• Experience in classroom instruction, vocational training, or a related safety‑education field.
• Excellent organizational abilities for tracking course materials, student records, and certification paperwork.
