About the Role
As a Defensive Driving Instructor, you'll teach evidence-based safety strategies to drivers eager to reduce risk and prevent accidents. This part-time position allows you to make a direct impact on road safety while working flexible hours that fit your schedule.
What You'll Do
- Deliver comprehensive defensive driving instruction to diverse student populations
- Teach hazard recognition, vehicle control, and collision avoidance techniques
- Conduct both classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel training sessions
- Assess student progress and provide individualized feedback
- Maintain accurate records of student participation and course completion
- Communicate effectively with students in English and Portuguese
- Model safe driving practices and professionalism in every interaction
- Stay current with NSC curriculum updates and traffic safety best practices
What We're Looking For
- Current driver's license with clean driving record
- Valid defensive driving instructor certification or ability to obtain it
- Fluency in both English and Portuguese (verbal and written)
- Strong communication and teaching skills
- Patience, professionalism, and commitment to safety
- Ability to work flexible part-time hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
- Reliable transportation and valid vehicle insurance
