Operations & Maintenance Technician II (Philadelphia Metro Area)

Sun Tribe is hiring an Operations & Maintenance Technician II to join our growing team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This full-time position offers the chance to support mission-critical clean energy systems across the Mid-Atlantic region.

About the Role

As an Operations & Maintenance Technician II, you'll be part of a dedicated technical team responsible for keeping solar and renewable energy assets performing at peak efficiency. You'll contribute directly to the reliability and productivity of utility-scale installations serving our clients across the region. This role combines hands-on technical work, problem-solving, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence in the clean energy sector.

What You'll Do

• Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on solar photovoltaic systems, inverters, transformers, and related balance-of-system equipment
• Perform equipment inspections, testing, and diagnostics to identify issues and verify proper operation
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems using diagnostic tools and testing equipment
• Execute maintenance work orders, document findings, and maintain detailed records of all service activities
• Respond to equipment alarms and performance issues with timely investigation and corrective action
• Follow safety protocols and industry standards, including OSHA requirements and electrical codes
• Monitor system performance data and contribute to asset optimization initiatives
• Collaborate with engineers and site managers on maintenance planning and process improvements

What We're Looking For

• Technical expertise in electrical systems, solar technology, or related renewable energy fields
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with hands-on equipment experience
• Knowledge of safety practices and ability to work safely at heights and with high-voltage systems
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to documentation and record-keeping
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Relevant certifications (such as electrical licenses or solar-specific credentials) are a plus
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the service region as needed
