About the Role
As a Middle School 8th Grade Science Teacher, you'll design and deliver rigorous, engaging science curriculum that builds students' understanding of core scientific concepts and practices. You'll create a dynamic classroom environment where curiosity drives learning and where every student can succeed in science.
What You'll Do
- Plan, prepare, and teach science lessons aligned with state standards and district curriculum
- Conduct hands-on laboratory activities and experiments that bring science concepts to life
- Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments and adjust instruction accordingly
- Foster a safe, inclusive classroom where students feel empowered to ask questions and take intellectual risks
- Communicate progress and concerns with families and collaborate with fellow educators
- Support the academic and personal growth of adolescent learners through mentorship and high expectations
What We're Looking For
- Valid teaching license or certification in science (or equivalent, per state requirements)
- Strong content knowledge in life science, physical science, earth science, or related disciplines
- Demonstrated ability to manage a classroom and engage diverse learners
- Excellent communication skills in writing and speaking
- Commitment to continuous professional growth and evidence-based teaching practices
- Passion for making science accessible and exciting for middle school students
