Melt department Team Leader – Nights – C Shift

Dicastal North America is hiring a Melt Department Team Leader – Nights (C Shift) at its manufacturing facility in Greenville, MI — a part-time leadership opportunity on the floor of one of North America's premier aluminum wheel producers.

About the Role

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Melt Department Team Leader owns shift-level accountability for safety, quality, and output within the Melt department. This is a hands-on night-shift position suited to someone who leads by example, communicates with clarity, and holds high standards for both people and product.

What You'll Do

• Champion a safety-first culture by verifying that every team member understands and consistently follows all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Coordinate melt operations across the shift — monitoring furnace activity, alloy chemistry, and material flow to keep production on schedule.
• Ensure new and existing employees receive timely, thorough training on department procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings and maintain ongoing communication with the oncoming and outgoing shifts to support seamless handoffs.
• Track key production metrics, identify bottlenecks, and escalate equipment or process issues to the Production Supervisor promptly.
• Enforce quality requirements at every stage of the melt process and take corrective action when standards are not met.
• Support scrap reduction and continuous improvement initiatives within the department.

What We're Looking For

• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in metal casting, aluminum processing, or a related heavy-industrial setting.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and hold accountable a production team during a night shift.
• Working knowledge of OSHA standards and general industrial safety best practices.
• Strong verbal communication skills — able to relay instructions clearly and document shift activity accurately.
• A problem-solving mindset with the composure to address production or safety issues calmly under pressure.
• Availability to work the C Shift night schedule consistently.
