Methodist University is seeking a full-time Executive Assistant/Program Administrator for its School of Medicine in Lafayette, Cumberland County. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a newly established medical education program and support the Chief of Staff in building institutional excellence from the ground up.
About the Role
Methodist University's School of Medicine, established in partnership with Cape Fear Valley Health in Fayetteville, NC, and holding preliminary accreditation from the LCME, is establishing its administrative operations. As Executive Assistant/Program Administrator for Academic Affairs, you will serve as a key operational leader, reporting directly to the Chief of Staff. This position bridges executive support and program administration, requiring both strategic thinking and meticulous attention to detail.
What You'll Do
- Manage the Chief of Staff's calendar, meetings, and executive priorities while ensuring smooth coordination across academic departments
- Administer academic programs, policies, and procedures for the School of Medicine in compliance with LCME standards
- Coordinate committee meetings, prepare agendas and minutes, and track action items across the medical school
- Support curriculum development, accreditation initiatives, and institutional communications
- Manage budgets, schedules, and resource allocation for academic programs and leadership
- Serve as a liaison between the School of Medicine, Cape Fear Valley Health, and other university departments
- Handle confidential matters with discretion and maintain detailed records and documentation
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in healthcare administration or higher education
- 5+ years of experience in executive or administrative roles within medical education, healthcare, or academic settings
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database management systems
- Understanding of LCME standards, accreditation processes, or medical education highly valued
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively with physicians, faculty, and staff
