About the Role
As a Medical Lab Technician in Hematology, you'll perform and oversee laboratory blood work and cell analysis that directly supports clinical diagnosis and treatment decisions. Working on our night shift team, you'll be part of a healthcare setting committed to delivering excellent patient outcomes around the clock.
What You'll Do
- Collect, process, and analyze blood specimens using established hematology protocols and instrumentation
- Perform microscopic examinations including differential cell counts, blood smears, and morphology assessments
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring quality control and proper calibration
- Execute tests such as coagulation studies, hemoglobin analysis, and platelet function assays
- Maintain accurate, detailed records of test results and specimen chain of custody
- Adhere to CLIA, CAP, and hospital laboratory safety and quality standards
- Communicate with clinical staff regarding abnormal results and turnaround times
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and follow established protocols for specimen rejection or recollection
What We're Looking For
- Current MLT (ASCP) or MT (ASCP) certification, or equivalent licensure
- Demonstrated experience in hematology and clinical laboratory testing
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to test accuracy
- Ability to work independently during evening and night shifts
- Proficiency with laboratory information systems and electronic health records
- Reliability, professional demeanor, and ability to work as part of a technical team
