Transportation Market Lead

Fuss & O'Neill, a Trilon Group company, is hiring a full-time Transportation Market Lead based in Hartford, Hartford County — a senior opportunity to shape the strategic direction of a high-growth transportation practice across New England.

About the Role

As Transportation Market Lead, you will serve as the primary champion of Fuss & O'Neill's transportation business — cultivating new opportunities, deepening existing client partnerships, and positioning the firm as the go-to engineering advisor for transportation infrastructure across the region. You will work shoulder-to-shoulder with executive and business unit leadership to align market strategy with company growth goals.

What You'll Do

• Lead and execute transportation market business development strategy across New England, identifying pursuits and building a healthy pipeline
• Serve as the public face of the transportation practice at industry events, conferences, and client meetings throughout Hartford and the broader region
• Cultivate trusted advisor relationships with key clients, including state DOTs, municipal agencies, and private-sector partners
• Collaborate with project managers and technical staff to develop winning proposals and define pursuit strategies
• Partner with executive leadership to set market revenue targets and track performance against goals
• Mentor and develop internal transportation talent, fostering a culture of technical excellence and client focus
• Identify emerging trends in transportation policy, funding, and infrastructure investment that create new service opportunities
• Coordinate cross-disciplinary efforts across Trilon Group's network to deliver integrated solutions to transportation clients

What We're Looking For

• Significant experience in transportation planning, engineering, or program management within a consulting environment
• Demonstrated track record of growing client relationships and winning work in the transportation market
• Deep familiarity with transportation funding mechanisms, regulatory landscape, and procurement processes in the Northeast
• Strong executive presence with the communication skills to represent the firm at senior client and stakeholder levels
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and influencing without direct authority
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, or a closely related field; PE license or AICP certification a plus
