Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential digital health organization in Berlin that operates one of Germany's leading continuing medical education (CME) platforms. As Medical Director, you will own the medical content strategy that reaches tens of thousands of physicians across Germany.
You will lead a seven-person medical team while maintaining relationships with senior physicians and key opinion leaders. Your role spans strategic catalogue development, operational day-to-day management, and building the processes that scale a growing organization.
- Steer the medical topic catalogue across specialties, ensuring evidence-based content that addresses gaps in professional education and clinical relevance
- Build and maintain a network of senior physicians and medical thought leaders, generating new educational content ideas through ongoing dialogue
- Lead and develop a medical team including two full-time medical editors and five medical students handling quality control, course descriptions, and topic development
- Drive format development for video content, panel discussions, and e-learning modules, providing clinical perspective on new formats including short-form video and gamification
- Manage project timelines and topic coordination with faculty to ensure content meets sponsor and regulatory requirements
- Ensure all educational content meets CME standards, maintains evidence-based rigor, and fulfills regulatory compliance
- Streamline workflows and documentation tools as the organization scales, serving as the key liaison for cross-departmental collaboration
What We're Looking For
- Completed medical degree (Studium der Medizin)
- Ideally 5+ years professional experience in clinical practice, industry, or digital health
- Leadership experience preferred; ability to develop team members and set clear priorities is essential
- Hands-on mindset – you execute tasks yourself rather than only delegating, and are comfortable working operationally during growth phases
- Enthusiasm for project management, process building, and medical education content
- Advantageous: startup experience and background in medical teaching
- Strong communication skills with senior physicians and industry partners, professional written and verbal style
- German at native level and fluent English required
