Mechanical Technician (Aerospace & Defense)

Actalent is hiring a Mechanical Technician (Aerospace & Defense) in Hygiene, Boulder County to support the assembly and integration of advanced High Energy Laser (HEL) systems for national defense applications. This is a full-time, hands-on position where your precision work directly impacts the performance of next-generation defense technologies.

Core Duties

• Assemble precision components for High Energy Laser systems with attention to tight tolerances and exacting specifications
• Perform quality inspections and dimensional verification using precision measurement tools and instruments
• Follow detailed assembly work instructions and technical documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Conduct component testing and validation according to defense industry standards
• Maintain meticulous records of assembly procedures, inspections, and test results
• Support the fabrication and integration of laser system subassemblies
• Adhere to rigorous safety and quality protocols required in aerospace and defense manufacturing

Skills & Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly, machining, or precision component fabrication
• Proficiency with precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, and similar instruments)
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions
• Strong attention to detail and demonstrated commitment to quality and accuracy
• Experience in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments strongly preferred
• Problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently and collaboratively with technical teams
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or vocational training in mechanical assembly is a plus
