Join Stantec's Buildings team as a Mechanical Project Engineer based in Bonnie, Utah County. We're seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to design and deliver critical infrastructure systems that keep essential facilities operational.

About the Role

As a Mechanical Project Engineer specializing in mission-critical facilities, you'll lead the mechanical engineering design and coordination for projects where reliability and performance are non-negotiable. Your work will span concept through construction, ensuring mechanical systems meet the demanding requirements of data centers, healthcare facilities, and other essential infrastructure.

What You'll Do

  • Design and engineer mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and specialized infrastructure equipment for mission-critical environments
  • Coordinate mechanical systems with architectural, electrical, and other engineering disciplines to deliver integrated solutions
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes, industry standards, and client specifications
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables from design through construction administration
  • Communicate with clients, consultants, and contractors to resolve technical challenges and maintain project momentum
  • Incorporate energy efficiency and sustainable design practices into mechanical system solutions
  • Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and documentation for bidding and construction

What We're Looking For

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Mechanical Engineering or ability to obtain one
  • Proven experience designing mechanical systems for critical infrastructure or mission-critical facilities
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC design, building code compliance, and mechanical system integration
  • Proficiency with CAD software and engineering design tools
  • Excellent project management and communication skills
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder relationships
