Elbit America is hiring a Mechanical Engineer II for our Merrimack, Hillsborough County office. This full-time position offers the opportunity to drive mechanical design and engineering across multiple advanced defense and commercial development programs.
Position Summary
The Mechanical Engineer II supports mechanical design and engineering activities across a diverse range of defense systems and platforms. You'll work on soldier systems, targeting systems, airborne platforms, military vehicle integrations, RF amplifiers, seekers, and associated test equipment. In this role, you'll apply core mechanical engineering principles and techniques to solve complex technical challenges while partnering with multidisciplinary teams to deliver mission-critical solutions.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Develop and refine mechanical designs using CAD software and perform engineering analysis
- Support design reviews and contribute to prototype development and testing activities
- Conduct mechanical analysis, modeling, and simulation to validate design performance and margins
- Collaborate with electrical, software, and systems engineering teams on integrated product designs
- Prepare technical documentation, drawings, and design specifications for manufacturing and integration
- Support manufacturing phases, assembly verification, and field integration of mechanical systems
- Identify design issues and recommend practical engineering solutions to address performance gaps
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
- Professional experience with mechanical design in defense, aerospace, or comparable industrial sectors
- Working proficiency with CAD software and mechanical analysis tools
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills
- Ability to communicate effectively across engineering and program teams
- Capacity to manage concurrent projects and meet technical milestones
- U.S. citizenship or eligible work authorization
