About the Role
As Manager of Technical Projects at Wilson Elser, you'll drive the planning, execution, and delivery of enterprise technology initiatives that support our legal teams and business operations. This position sits at the intersection of legal services, operations, and technology—overseeing complex projects from conception through implementation across our New York City office and firm-wide deployments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end delivery of technical projects, from scope definition through rollout and optimization
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including IT, legal operations, and department stakeholders
- Establish project timelines, budgets, and success metrics; report progress to senior leadership
- Identify process improvements and technology solutions that enhance firm efficiency
- Ensure legal compliance and security standards are met throughout all project phases
- Troubleshoot implementation challenges and drive resolution with vendor partners and internal teams
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of project management experience, ideally in law firms, professional services, or regulated industries
- Demonstrated expertise managing technical projects and IT initiatives
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Experience with legal practice management systems or law firm operations preferred
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
- Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or similar) is a plus
