Abilene ISD is hiring a Special Education Aide to join Martinez Elementary in Abilene, US, starting August 10, 2026. About the Role
As a Special Education Aide at Martinez Elementary, you'll provide hands-on support that directly impacts student success. Working alongside special education teachers and classroom staff, you'll help implement individualized strategies that keep students engaged, progressing academically, and developing socially and emotionally. Your contributions are essential to creating an inclusive environment where all students can thrive.
What You'll Do
- Deliver one-on-one and small-group instructional support to students with identified special needs
- Implement individualized education plan (IEP) strategies under teacher direction
- Support classroom management and help reinforce behavioral expectations
- Assist students with academic tasks, daily living skills, and peer interactions
- Observe and document student progress, sharing relevant information with teaching staff
- Prepare instructional materials and maintain learning spaces throughout the day
- Support students in classrooms, small-group settings, and school-wide activities
