Locums Psychiatrist Is Wanted in Indiana

CompHealth is seeking a psychiatric physician for a locums assignment at a hospital-based facility in Indiana. This full-time opportunity offers weekend coverage hours with the support and flexibility that locum tenens work provides.

About the Role

This psychiatric locums position is based at a hospital and focuses on delivering care during weekend coverage shifts. You'll work Saturdays and Sundays from 8 am to 5 pm, seeing approximately 10 patients and consults per day on average. The hospital-based setting allows you to engage with diverse patient populations and clinical cases while maintaining a predictable, structured schedule.

What You'll Do

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment planning for hospitalized patients
• Provide clinical oversight and medication management across the psychiatric census
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams including nursing, social work, and other clinical staff
• Document clinical assessments and treatment progress in accordance with hospital standards
• Support continuity of care and transitions between weekend and weekday coverage

What We're Looking For

• MD or DO with an active, unrestricted Indiana medical license (or eligibility)
• Board certification or board-eligible in psychiatry
• Commitment to evidence-based psychiatric practice in an inpatient setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients and clinical teams
• Flexibility and professionalism in a locums environment
