About the Role

The Senior Loan Review Officer plays a critical role within UMB Financial Corporation's risk management function, executing our comprehensive internal loan review program across all business units and subsidiaries. In this full-time position, you'll partner with the Director of Loan Review to assess credit risk exposure, monitor portfolio trends, and ensure the quality and integrity of our lending operations. This role requires both technical expertise in credit analysis and collaborative leadership to drive risk awareness across the organization.

What You'll Do

• Lead and execute periodic loan review examinations across business units, documenting findings and credit quality trends
• Analyze loan files, financial statements, and collateral valuations to identify credit risk factors and portfolio concentration issues
• Prepare detailed loan review reports with ratings, recommendations, and action items for management and executive leadership
• Monitor compliance with credit policy and underwriting standards across UMBFC subsidiaries
• Collaborate with business unit leaders to address credit exceptions and develop remediation plans
• Support the Director in regulatory examinations and internal audit processes related to credit risk
• Mentor junior review staff and contribute to process improvements in our loan review program

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of commercial lending or loan review experience, preferably in a bank holding company environment
• Strong credit analysis skills and familiarity with credit policy and underwriting fundamentals
• Experience preparing loan review reports and presenting findings to senior management
• Knowledge of banking regulations and risk management best practices
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments
• Bachelor's degree in finance, business, accounting, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
