The Opportunity
As a Vice President and Associate Legal Counsel at BTIG, you'll join a legal team embedded at the center of a fast-growing financial services firm. You'll deliver strategic legal guidance across our US investment banking and capital markets divisions, working on complex transactions, regulatory matters, and business-critical issues. This position offers direct visibility into the firm's core revenue-generating activities and the chance to build a meaningful track record in financial services law at a respected independent firm.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Review, draft, and negotiate agreements for capital markets transactions, financing structures, and client engagements
- Advise business units on legal risks, regulatory compliance, and deal structure optimization
- Manage regulatory filings, disclosures, and ongoing compliance matters for investment banking and capital markets operations
- Partner with internal stakeholders—bankers, traders, operations—to solve legal problems and mitigate risk
- Support senior counsel and the General Counsel on strategic initiatives and firm-wide legal governance
What You Bring
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) and active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 6+ years of legal experience in financial services, capital markets, investment banking, or securities law
- Demonstrated strength in contract drafting, due diligence, and regulatory analysis
- Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly to non-lawyer business partners
- Proactive problem-solver with sound judgment, integrity, and professional credibility
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with competing priorities
