You will combine licensed clinical counseling — consistent with Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) practice — with the day-to-day supervision and safety duties of a juvenile corrections environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver individual and group counseling to detained youth, addressing behavioral, emotional, and mental health needs.
- Complete clinical assessments and contribute to treatment and care planning for residents.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and orderly environment in line with detention center policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, and facility staff on resident care and crisis response.
- Document services accurately and keep confidential clinical records up to date.
Qualifications
- Clinical licensure aligned with Qualified Mental Health Professional standards, such as Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC).
- Background or training in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related behavioral health field.
- Ability to work effectively with at-risk and detained adolescents.
- Strong communication, assessment, and documentation skills.
- Willingness to work on-site at the Belleville, IL facility (this is not a remote position).
