About the Role

This full-time internship in our historic trades program offers hands-on experience in traditional millinery and manteau-making. You'll work alongside master craftspeople in an active museum setting where your skills directly support historical interpretation, educational demonstrations, and visitor engagement.

What You'll Do

• Create period-accurate bonnets, hats, and headpieces using authentic 18th-century millinery techniques
• Construct mantels and period-appropriate outer garments following historical methods and patterns
• Work collaboratively with historians and curators to ensure historical fidelity
• Support museum interpretation programs and educational workshops through skilled craftsmanship
• Maintain workshop tools, materials, and standards in a museum environment
• Research period textiles, construction methods, and design to enhance accuracy

What We're Looking For

• Genuine passion for historic craftsmanship and 18th-century material culture
• Demonstrated experience or strong aptitude in sewing, textiles, and costume construction
