About the Role

As a Mental Health Counselor at Glenmore Manor, you will serve in a combined Case Manager and counseling capacity, helping residents navigate the challenges that accompany housing instability. Based on-site in Brooklyn, you will work directly with clients affected by issues such as homelessness, domestic violence, HIV/AIDS, mental illness, and substance use, connecting them to the resources and support they need to move forward.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver mental health counseling and case management services to residents at Glenmore Manor
• Assess client needs and develop individualized support and service plans
• Connect clients to housing, healthcare, employment, and community-based resources
• Provide guidance to individuals coping with domestic violence, substance use, HIV/AIDS, and mental health concerns
• Maintain accurate case notes and documentation in line with program requirements
• Collaborate with program staff and community partners to coordinate ongoing care

Qualifications

• Background in social work, counseling, psychology, human services, or a closely related field
• Experience in case management or mental health counseling, ideally within a nonprofit or social services setting
• Understanding of the issues facing individuals experiencing homelessness and related hardships
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Commitment to serving diverse Brooklyn communities with empathy and respect
