About the Role

As a GDU Team Lead at East Ridge Sow Farm, you'll oversee daily operations within the gestation and development unit, guiding your team to deliver consistent, high-quality animal care while maintaining rigorous production and compliance standards. What You'll Do

• Lead and coordinate GDU team members to ensure daily sow care routines are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Uphold humane animal handling practices across all unit activities, maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare.
• Monitor the health and condition of sows throughout gestation, identifying concerns early and escalating as appropriate.
• Administer and accurately document vaccinations, medications, and injections in accordance with established health protocols.
• Ensure all animals have consistent access to fresh water and feed, adjusting rations as production needs require.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-ventilated barn environment that supports optimal reproductive performance.
• Enforce biosecurity procedures and support regulatory compliance across all unit operations.
• Train and mentor team members on proper handling, health observation, and recordkeeping techniques.
• Track and report production metrics, flagging deviations and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For

• Prior experience in swine production, sow farm operations, or a related livestock environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team and hold peers accountable in a production setting.
• Solid working knowledge of animal health protocols, including administration of vaccines and therapeutics.
• Strong attention to detail for accurate recordkeeping and regulatory documentation.
• Commitment to animal welfare and the principles of responsible pork production.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and comfortable with the physical demands of daily farm work.
• Ability to communicate clearly with team members and farm management.
