About the Role

As a Part‑Time Dock Master you will help create a welcoming, safe, and efficient environment for Freedom Boat Club members and guests. This role blends customer service with practical dockside tasks to ensure every visit starts and ends on the water smoothly.

What You'll Do

• Greet members and guests upon arrival, verify reservations, and provide orientation to club vessels and amenities
• Assist with the safe docking, undocking, and securing of boats, using proper lines and fenders
• Perform routine dock inspections, report maintenance needs, and keep the dock area clean and organized
• Coordinate with the marina team to manage boat traffic flow during peak periods
• Handle member inquiries, process check‑ins/check‑outs, and maintain accurate logs of vessel usage
• Support safety initiatives by monitoring weather conditions, enforcing club policies, and assisting with emergency procedures when needed
• Help with seasonal setup and takedown of dock equipment, including gangways, power pedestals, and water supply connections

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in a marina, boat club, or waterfront hospitality setting is preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly, service‑oriented attitude
• Ability to lift and maneuver dock lines, fenders, and light equipment (up to 50 lbs)
• Basic knowledge of boating terminology and safety practices
• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working outdoors in variable weather conditions
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to the Venice MarineMax location
• Flexibility to work part‑time shifts, including weekends and holidays
