About the Role

What You'll Do

  • Help maintain inventory accuracy through receiving shipments, performing cycle counts, and processing returns or transfers.

  • Participate in store‑wide initiatives such as setting up promotional displays, updating signage, and supporting loss‑prevention programs.
  • Attend structured on‑the‑job training sessions that cover store policies, safety procedures, basic financial controls, and leadership fundamentals.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash handling, securing the store, and preparing daily reports.
  • Contribute to a positive store culture by encouraging teamwork, recognizing peer achievements, and upholding Menard’s service standards.

What We're Looking For

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a high school diploma or equivalent; coursework in business, management, or a related field is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly with customers, teammates, and supervisors.
  • Basic math aptitude for handling transactions, calculating discounts, and performing inventory counts.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a willingness to work a flexible part‑time schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, walk the sales floor regularly, and lift moderate weights (up to 25 pounds) as needed.
  • Basic computer literacy for using point‑of‑sale systems, scheduling software, and simple reporting tools.
