Founder Design Accelerator

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential design education organization seeking participants for a remote design accelerator program. This 7-month apprenticeship is designed for aspiring product designers and UX professionals who want to build a portfolio project from scratch while receiving expert mentorship.

Our client sponsors participants to work through the complete design and research process for a startup idea of their choosing. This is an excellent opportunity for new graduates and career changers to gain hands-on experience with end-to-end product design, research methodologies, and AI-integrated design practices.

Program Details: Remote, 7 months duration (fall or spring cohorts), 5-10 hours per week commitment, weekend learning sessions

What You'll Learn and Accomplish

• Build digital products from 0-1, leading the entire design process for your chosen startup concept
• Conduct discovery research including user recruitment, interview planning, facilitating 8-16 user interviews, and synthesizing insights
• Develop comprehensive UX deliverables: personas, journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and service blueprints
• Design and test AI-powered features while learning ethical AI design principles
• Create a custom design system including components, style guides, and branding
• Lead product scoping, feature prioritization, and project management
• Conduct competitive analysis and articulate product differentiators
• Develop business models and prepare compelling design and business pitches
• Facilitate user testing sessions to validate and iterate on designs
• Gain consulting experience working with startups on real design engagements

What We're Looking For

• Interest in launching a digital app, AI application, or digital business concept
• Ability to commit 5-10 hours per week to program deliverables
• Availability to attend 2-3 hour weekend lectures or complete online course modules
• Openness to mentor feedback and willingness to iterate on design work
• No prior UX portfolio required—this program welcomes those at the beginning of their design journey
• New graduates and career changers are encouraged to apply

Pay
