Forward Deployed Engineer

Our talent team is representing a confidential global technology consultancy seeking a Lead Forward Deployed Engineer to join their AI-focused practice in France. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of enterprise transformation and cutting-edge AI product development, embedding directly with Fortune 1000 clients across finance, retail, and energy sectors.

In this role, you'll take full ownership of delivering AI-powered solutions from discovery through production and adoption. You'll translate ambiguous business challenges into scalable AI-native systems while working hands-on with code, leading workshops, and presenting to senior executives. This position demands both deep technical expertise and strong client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project delivery including discovery, architecture, prototype development, and production deployment of AI systems
• Conduct discovery sessions with clients, frame complex technical requirements, and manage stakeholder expectations at all levels
• Mentor engineering teams and establish AI-native best practices across delivery organizations
• Collaborate with sales and presales teams to design solution architectures and craft compelling technical proposals
• Champion prompt engineering, output validation, guardrails, and fallback strategies in AI product design
• Capture field insights to strengthen delivery methodologies, tools, and playbooks
• Build trust with both technical teams and executive stakeholders through clear communication and reliable delivery

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with proven client-facing delivery track record
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage all project phases from discovery to production with minimal oversight
• Deep full-stack expertise, preferably with ReactJS on the front-end and.NET, Java, or Python on the back-end
• Hands-on experience deploying LLM or generative AI-powered systems in production environments
• Strong architecture and design capabilities with excellent stakeholder management skills
• Daily, integrated use of AI coding tools and assistants in your development workflow
• Expertise in prompt engineering, context management, and critical evaluation of AI-generated outputs
• Experience mentoring or leading small engineering teams
• Familiarity with enterprise constraints including risk management, compliance, and complex stakeholder environments
• Autonomous, proactive, and outcome-oriented mindset with comfort leading senior-level conversations
• Eagerness to learn new technology stacks and adapt to evolving platforms
