FOOD SERVICE WORKER (FULL TIME AND PART TIME)

Join Compass Group, North America as a Food Service Worker in Oak Park, Oakland County, where you'll help prepare and serve meals for our school community. We're currently accepting applications for both full-time and part-time positions to support dining operations at Oak Park Schools.

About This Position

This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic school kitchen environment with Chartwells K12, part of Compass Group, North America. You'll join a team dedicated to providing quality food service and nutrition to students. The role offers flexible scheduling with full-time and part-time options available, working typically between 8:00 am and 2:00 pm, with days that may vary based on operational needs.

What You'll Do

• Prepare, cook, and portion meals according to established recipes and nutritional standards
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards in all food handling and preparation areas
• Serve meals and beverages to students in a friendly, efficient manner
• Assist with inventory management and food storage procedures
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, serving areas, and dining spaces
• Support the kitchen team with setup and breakdown activities
• Ensure a positive student experience during meal service

Requirements

• Prior food service experience is preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Strong attention to food safety and cleanliness standards
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Physical capability to perform kitchen duties, including standing for extended periods
• Willingness to learn and follow company procedures and best practices
