About the Role
As a Food Service Worker in Birmingham, you'll be part of a kitchen team committed to delivering nutritious meals and excellent service. Working under manager supervision, you'll contribute to daily food preparation while ensuring our facility operates safely and efficiently.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and cook quality meals and baked goods according to established menus
- Maintain rigorous food sanitation and safety standards throughout kitchen operations
- Maintain accurate records of cash receipts, meal inventory, and daily meal counts
- Assist your manager in completing required daily reports and documentation
- Keep the kitchen organized, clean, and compliant with health and safety regulations
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and follow proper food preparation techniques
- Follow recipes and portion guidelines to ensure consistent food quality
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Food handler certification or willingness to obtain it
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation requirements
- Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistent food quality
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Team-oriented approach and ability to work collaboratively with managers and staff
- Physical ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods
