Flat Rate Technician – Winslow ME

About This Position

VIP Auto is recruiting a Flat Rate Technician who embodies our commitment to delivering customers a genuinely different and better automotive experience. Working under the flat-rate model, you'll diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles while following VIP's proven systems and values. You'll report to the Service Manager and contribute to a culture where technical excellence and operational safety are non-negotiable. This hourly, non-exempt role rewards efficiency and craftsmanship—the more you accomplish with quality, the more you earn.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical, brake, suspension, and steering components
• Complete repairs efficiently and safely within allocated flat-rate timeframes while maintaining quality standards
• Perform multi-point vehicle inspections and communicate findings to the Service Manager and customers
• Maintain organized work areas, tool inventory, and compliance with all shop safety procedures and protocols
• Collaborate with the service team to prioritize customer needs and ensure timely job completion
• Document repair work accurately and participate in continuous improvement of shop processes

Skills & Qualifications

• Demonstrated automotive technician experience with proficiency across multiple vehicle systems and repair types
• Strong diagnostic reasoning and the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues
• Proven track record working under flat-rate compensation and meeting or exceeding time standards
• Solid understanding of automotive safety protocols and a commitment to workplace safety
• Attention to detail, reliability, and accountability for repair quality and customer satisfaction
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive service team
• Valid driver's license and dependable transportation
