VIP Auto is seeking a motivated Service Writer to join the team at their Bangor, Penobscot County location.

About the Role

As a Service Writer at VIP Auto, you will be the primary point of contact for customers bringing their vehicles in for maintenance and repair. You will translate customer concerns into clear work orders, coordinate with the service team, and help ensure each visit ends with a positive experience.

What You'll Do

• Greet customers, listen to their vehicle concerns, and document detailed service requests.
• Prepare accurate repair estimates, obtain approvals, and schedule work with technicians.
• Communicate repair progress, explain completed work, and answer any follow‑up questions.
• Process payments, handle warranty claims, and maintain precise service records in the dealership system.
• Identify additional service needs and recommend appropriate maintenance or repair options.
• Collaborate with parts and service departments to keep workflow smooth and timely.
• Uphold VIP Auto’s standards for courtesy, professionalism, and transparency.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as a service advisor, service writer, or in a customer‑facing automotive role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
• Familiarity with automotive service terminology and common repair procedures.
• Proficiency with dealership management software or similar estimating and invoicing tools.
• Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail when handling multiple work orders.
• A customer‑service mindset focused on building long‑term relationships.
• Ability to work a full‑time schedule in a fast‑paced service environment.
