Field Service Engineer (ESS / PV) – France (South)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential renewable energy organization seeking a Field Service Engineer to support solar and energy storage installations across the south of France. Our talent team is looking for a technical professional who can serve as the primary technical contact for customer sites, ensuring reliable operation of photovoltaic and battery storage systems.

This is a remote-based role requiring significant travel throughout southern France for on-site service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation, maintenance, and upgrade activities for solar energy systems and battery storage solutions
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers, handling technical inquiries and resolving issues efficiently
• Collaborate with project management teams during commissioning and site acceptance phases
• Ensure all work complies with operational procedures and health and safety regulations
• Maintain accurate and current documentation for ongoing and future service contracts
• Participate in on-call rotation to provide timely support and problem resolution

What We're Looking For

• Degree in electrical engineering or strong electrician background with relevant certifications
• Fluency in both English and French (C1 level) for effective communication with diverse stakeholders
• Valid driving license and willingness to travel extensively across France
• Availability for on-call duties to ensure timely customer support
• Previous experience with battery energy storage systems is a strong plus
• Understanding of the European solar energy market and related technologies (PV systems, energy storage, EV charging) is highly advantageous
• Mandarin language skills are beneficial but not required
