Hagerty Consulting, Inc. is hiring a full-time Emergency Management Individual Assistance (IA) / Housing Specialist in Jackson, Hinds County, to help communities recover after disaster strikes. About the Role
As an Individual Assistance (IA) / Housing Specialist based in Jackson, Hinds County, you will support clients navigating the human side of emergency management — connecting disaster survivors with the housing and individual assistance resources they need. This on-site, full-time position sits at the intersection of policy, program delivery, and community recovery, working alongside experienced emergency management professionals on some of the country's most demanding crisis response efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide subject-matter expertise on Individual Assistance (IA) and disaster housing programs for state, local, and tribal clients.
- Support the design, implementation, and improvement of preparedness, response, and recovery initiatives.
- Assist clients with program eligibility, documentation, and compliance related to individual assistance and housing recovery.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex emergency management challenges.
- Contribute fresh, problem-solving thinking that strengthens community resilience.
Qualifications
- Background or demonstrated experience in emergency management, disaster recovery, or related public-service fields.
- Familiarity with Individual Assistance (IA) frameworks and disaster housing programs.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- A collaborative, public-spirited approach and the ability to perform under pressure during active crises.
- Willingness to work full-time on-site in Jackson, Hinds County.
