Kiewit Power Engineering is hiring a full-time Electrical Specialist, Commissioning and Startup to join its Commissioning team in Erin, Houston County. This mid-level, on-site role is ideal for an electrical professional who thrives in the field, champions a safety-first culture, and wants to play a hands-on part in energizing complex power projects.

About the Role

As an Electrical Specialist supporting commissioning and startup activities, you will report directly to the Startup Manager and partner closely with the Electrical Lead. Working within Kiewit's Power market, you will help guide the day-to-day electrical efforts that move projects from construction completion through testing and into reliable operation. The position is based in Erin, Houston County and is not a remote opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and lead by example on jobsite safety, reinforcing Kiewit's commitment to incident-free work.
  • Coordinate and execute daily electrical commissioning and startup activities alongside the Electrical Lead.
  • Support the planning, scheduling, and sequencing of electrical system testing and energization.
  • Help troubleshoot electrical systems and resolve issues that arise during startup.
  • Collaborate with the Startup Manager and project teams to keep commissioning milestones on track.

Qualifications

  • Mid-level experience in electrical work, commissioning, or startup within a power, industrial, or construction environment.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, testing, and energization practices.
  • A demonstrated, personal commitment to workplace safety and leadership.
  • Ability to coordinate field activities and communicate effectively with leads, managers, and craft teams.
  • Willingness to work on-site full time in Erin, Houston County.
