Lake County Schools Consortium seeks a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to join the Exceptional Learners Collaborative (ELC West) for our 2026 Extended School Year program. This is a full-time position (2.0 FTE) beginning June 1, 2026, based at our ELC West location.

About the Role

The Speech Language Pathologist will provide comprehensive speech and language services to students with identified communication disorders and speech-language disabilities. Working within an inclusive, collaborative environment at ELC West, you'll support students' communication development and help them achieve measurable progress toward their individualized education goals.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct speech and language assessments and evaluations to identify student needs and communication disorders
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans aligned with student IEPs (Individualized Education Programs)
  • Deliver direct speech and language therapy services to students during the Extended School Year program
  • Monitor progress and adjust interventions based on student response and outcome data
  • Collaborate with special education teachers, educators, and school staff to integrate language strategies across learning environments
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and home carryover activities
  • Maintain complete and accurate clinical documentation and student records

What We're Looking For

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited program
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
  • Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (or eligibility for licensure)
  • Experience working with students with diverse communication and language disorders
  • Strong collaborative and communication skills with students, families, and school teams
  • Dedication to supporting students in special education and exceptional learner populations

About Exceptional Learners Collaborative (ELC West)

ELC West is a specialized program within Lake County Schools Consortium dedicated to serving students with exceptional learning needs. Our Extended School Year program provides critical academic and therapeutic services during the summer months to help students maintain and build upon skills developed during the regular school year.
