Legal Assistant/Paralegal – Litigation Defense – San Antonio

Naman Howell Smith & Lee Pllc is hiring a full-time Legal Assistant/Paralegal in Castle Hills, Bexar County, to support our busy litigation defense practice in the San Antonio area. Position Summary

This is a full-time legal assistant and paralegal role focused on civil litigation defense at our San Antonio office. You'll work alongside our litigation attorneys on a diverse caseload spanning pre-suit investigation through trial and appellate work. We specialize in personal injury defense and transportation litigation, and we're looking for someone who thrives managing multiple matters and supporting both courtroom readiness and settlement negotiations.

What You'll Do

• Manage administrative and substantive tasks across civil litigation cases, from intake through resolution
• Conduct and coordinate pre-suit investigations, evidence gathering, and discovery management
• Draft, proofread, and organize legal pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and court filings
• Prepare case materials, exhibits, and trial binders for court appearances
• Maintain detailed case timelines, docket tracking, and deadline management systems
• Support trial and appellate proceedings with logistics, exhibits, and legal research
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and third parties
• Maintain confidential client files and ensure compliance with litigation timelines and rules

Who We're Looking For

• 3+ years of hands-on civil litigation experience
• Background in personal injury defense litigation (strongly preferred)
• Experience with transportation litigation matters (preferred)
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities under pressure
• Proficiency with litigation software, case management systems, and Microsoft Office
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with attorneys and support staff
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in legal documents
