Associate Attorney – Litigation Defense – San Antonio

Naman Howell Smith & Lee Pllc is seeking an Associate Attorney – Litigation Defense for its San Antonio office located in Castle Hills, Bexar County.

About the Role

This full‑time position focuses on defending clients in civil litigation matters, with an emphasis on personal injury, transportation, construction, and product defect cases. You will collaborate with seasoned partners and support staff to develop case strategies, manage discovery, and represent the firm in court proceedings.

What You'll Do

• Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests for a variety of civil defense matters
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on complex liability issues
• Assist in depositions, hearings, and trial preparation under attorney supervision
• Manage case calendars, deadlines, and client communications efficiently
• Participate in settlement negotiations and mediation sessions as needed
• Maintain accurate billing records and contribute to matter budgeting

What We're Looking For

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active Texas bar membership
• Minimum of three years of civil litigation experience, preferably with a defense focus
• Demonstrated ability to handle personal injury, transportation, construction, or product defect files
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills, with experience drafting motions and taking depositions
• Detail‑oriented mindset capable of juggling multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
• Proficiency with legal research platforms (Westlaw, LexisNexis) and case management software
• Commitment to professional growth and a collaborative team attitude
