Assistant Volleyball Coach

Lake County Schools Consortium is seeking a dedicated Assistant Volleyball Coach to join the athletics program at North Chicago Community High School in North Chicago, Lake County. This full-time role is ideal for an energetic coaching professional passionate about developing student-athletes both on and off the court.

About the Role

As an Assistant Volleyball Coach with Lake County Schools Consortium, you will support the head coach in leading the volleyball program within North Chicago Community Unit School District 187. Based on-site at North Chicago Community High School, this is a full-time coaching position focused on athlete development, skill instruction, and fostering a positive team culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in planning and running practices, drills, and game-day strategy
• Provide individualized skill instruction to help student-athletes improve performance and technique
• Support team conditioning, fundamentals, and overall athletic growth
• Promote sportsmanship, discipline, and academic accountability among players
• Help supervise athletes during practices, competitions, and team activities
• Collaborate with coaching staff to ensure a safe, organized, and motivating environment

Qualifications

• Knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, rules, and coaching techniques
• Prior coaching or playing experience in volleyball is highly desirable
• Strong communication and mentorship skills for working with high school student-athletes
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a coaching team
• Commitment to student safety, well-being, and a positive team experience
• Must meet any certification and clearance requirements set by the district
