Role Overview

As Director of Thought Leadership and Content Marketing, you'll lead the development and execution of high-impact thought leadership and content strategies that position Indeed as an industry authority. This director role owns the strategic vision for how Indeed communicates with job seekers, employers, and industry stakeholders. You'll build and mentor a talented content team, drive editorial strategy, and ensure every content initiative serves our core mission of helping people find opportunities and build careers. Your work will shape how millions of job seekers perceive Indeed and discover career opportunities.

What You'll Do

• Develop and lead thought leadership strategy, identifying industry trends and positioning Indeed as an authority on workplace innovation, hiring practices, and employment trends
• Create and oversee comprehensive content marketing strategy and roadmap, driving engagement across digital, social, video, and publishing channels
• Build, lead, and mentor a creative content team, fostering an inclusive environment where all people feel comfortable contributing their authentic perspectives
• Collaborate with product, corporate communications, brand, and business leadership to ensure integrated, consistent messaging across all touchpoints
• Develop and track content performance metrics, using audience insights to continuously refine strategy and maximize business impact
• Commission, edit, and publish original research, long-form articles, thought leadership pieces, and multimedia content that educates and empowers our audiences

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in content marketing, editorial strategy, thought leadership, or related communications disciplines, with at least 3 years in a leadership or director-level role
• Proven ability to develop and execute content marketing strategies that drive measurable audience growth, engagement, and business impact
• Demonstrated success building, developing, and managing high-performing content marketing or communications teams
• Strong editorial sensibility and ability to develop compelling, original narratives that resonate with target audiences
• Proficiency with content management systems, analytics platforms, and digital marketing tools
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly to diverse stakeholders
